Our Mission
Our organisation “Beersheba Vision Inc.” endeavours to further that relationship through educational initiatives in schools both here and in Israel, and the media including our weekly Beersheba Vision program on JAIR radio and other media outlets also promoting the related memorial ANZAC days and events. . We stand strongly against all forms of antisemitism, we foster friendship and understanding between the Jewish and Christian communities. Most importantly we stand resolutely for the values and freedoms that our ANZACs fought for. These values and freedoms are being attacked more than ever at this time. The Impact of Beersheba
The charge of Beersheba in 1917 by the Australian Light Horse was a profound geopolitical event. In the words of Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, this victory“ made history and fulfilled history.”
Beersheba opened the door for the creation of the modern State of Israel, and by extension paved the way for significant and continuing interaction between Israel and Australia and the Jewish and Christian communities. In the recent words of Kinneret Academic College’s Ziv Ophir, “The Australian horsemen keep galloping on.”
The remarkable centennial of Beersheba event in 2017 inspired a vision in many Australians to “keep galloping on” and to build on the achievements of their forebears a century earlier.
A committee was formed under the guidance of the late Peter Kentley to further this vision.
Sadly, Peter has passed but the “Beersheba Vision” continues to contribute to the Jewish and Christian communities, through a variety of educational and cultural programs.
